Barack’s reminder to watch the Veep Debates tonight

Filed under: Politics — Liz Isaacs @ 4:54 pm

Liz –

Tonight at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, we’ll hear from the two candidates for vice president.

My running mate Joe Biden and the Republican nominee, Governor Sarah Palin, need to be ready to step in as president at a moment’s notice, and this is the only time they’ll appear side-by-side before Election Day.

This debate is also extremely important because early voting began this week in eight states — including the crucial battleground state of Ohio.

In fact, the votes cast in Ohio this weekend could ultimately decide who wins this whole election. There are only four days left in the narrow window of opportunity when voters can register and vote early all in one step.

Republican operatives tried to shut down one-stop early vote in court this week, but they failed. And now you can help provide the resources for an intensive four-day Get Out The Vote operation before the window closes.

Make a donation of $5 or more today to help Get Out The Vote in Ohio and other early vote states.

Early voting will play a bigger role this year than ever before.

And after tonight’s debate, voters will be motivated to cast their ballots for the change this country needs.

Joe Biden and I share a vision for the future of this country, and it’s very different from the vision of our opponents.

I’m sure you’ll see that contrast in tonight’s debate.

But there’s another contrast that you can see in every aspect of this campaign. Joe and I know that real change comes from the bottom up, not the top down. That’s why we’ve always put our faith in supporters like you.

Make a donation of $5 or more right now to help reach Ohio voters and Get Out The Vote in other early vote states.

You’ve built an unprecedented grassroots movement, and that’s what will make all the difference in the next 32 days.

Thanks for everything you’re doing, and make sure you tell everyone you know to watch tonight’s debate.

Our individual circle of friendship is part of the global circle of friendship; it is one and the same. A drop of rain from the sky, a drop of water from the river, or a drop of water from the ocean are all just that-a drop of water-until they accumulate. The friends we make in our own small circle contribute to the spread of friendship around the world. Making one true friend is a step toward creating world peace.

At first only Nichiren chanted Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, but then two, three, and a hundred followed, chanting and teaching others. Propagation will unfold this way in the future as well. Does this not signify “emerging from the earth”? At the time when the Law has spread far and wide, the entire Japanese nation will chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, as surely as an arrow aimed at the earth cannot miss the target.
